The two pictures above were taken on July 17th and those below on July 26th.  We've nick-named this handsome boy Puffle, short for Hufflepuff.  Not so much because we're Harry Potter fans, but because he just is a puffy, fluffy, little butterball and the name totally suits him.  Like his two silver sisters, he has a super silky, wonderful kitten coat which has yet to lie down as coats usually do on kittens this age.  No doubt that in time he will get big enough and the fur long enough that it will lie down somewhat.  But so far he is just the most huggable, cuddly, fellow and I kind of hope his coat never does grow up!  And yes, his eyes really are that blue!  His ears have come up more since we took the pictures below and we continue to hope that they may become Grand Champion quality.  But even if they don't, Puffle will be staying with us to pass on all of the great qualities he has to our future generations.  Like his silver sister Feather who will also stay with us, he has a fabulous profile and wedge, that incredible, silky coat and a fabulous temperament.  And he's finally beginning to lose a bit of that baby fat to show us that he has a wonderful body under all of that fur.  If you don't see him at shows, you'll surely see his children and grand-children on a regular basis!
I turned the flash off on my camera to try to capture the true color of Puffle's eyes in the photo directly above, left and right.  Although I'm not a very steady shot and the pictures could be clearer, those are his eyes!  Not only are they a brilliant blue, but the color is totally uniform without the color fading toward the outside of the iris.
Top the color of those gorgeous baby blues off with a purrfect shape and expression and Puffle's eyes may be my all-time favorites.  I know I rave about all of our kittens, but this boy really is the ideal combination of most of the many great qualities from his dam and sire.  And Puffle is such an easy going baby that we've even walked him in our yard without a harness!  He never crouched low to the grass as he took his first steps in the great outdoors.  He stood up nice and tall as if he'd done it a million times and calmly hunted for grasshoppers and all else that might be more fascinating than the grass itself.  I am NOT advocating that anyone walk their kitty without a harness and leash folks!  My hands were never more than a foot away from Puffle if I had to scoop him up before he scampered off.  But with the many kittens we've raised from the moment they were born, Puffle just has a very special something that causes me to trust him absolutely not to do anything dramatic and/or unexpected.  His temperament is as solid as he is handsome and wonderful.  Visit again soon to watch this super kitten grow up!
