I absolutely adore this boy's color and markings!
All of the pictures above were taken on July 16th and 17th at about 3 1/2 months old.  Scroll down to find Scooter's baby pictures... This handsome boy's background color gets warmer and warmer - his nose is still a deep, rich amber and the non-black areas on his body, belly, legs, face, etc. are already a deeper brown than any brown tabby we've had yet.  He truly is the cat's meow of brown tabbies!  I'm not at all sure what his markings will wind up as - spotted, mackerel, or ticked.  Several of the ticked tabbies we have took up to two years for the pattern to disperse.  But there is just no way to know for sure what will happen with the pattern on any one kitty.  All I can say for sure is that Scooter really is one of the most handsome boys we've ever had.  And I've loved his pattern ever since the day he was born.  Unlike most brown tabbies, he has less pattern than background color.  So the pattern really does stand out.  I'll be trying to get better body shots of Scooter now that I have my camera working again and I'm catching up on pix of the other kittens.  As for temperament, Scooter is very much like his brother.  He loves to play with the younger babies (above left) and is just a totally sweet, charming fellow.  He's totally a top-show quality kitten and we may well wind up showing him just for the fun of it!  I say this only because I am not one to be smitten by our brown tabbies since my focus is of course our silvers (a delicious, warm brown tabby being pretty much the nemesis of what makes the best silvers, i.e. no tarnish).  But this boy really is so uplifting with his great eye expression, fantastic markings and hot tones that I might just have to make an exception!
The pictures directly below were taken on May 20th.  Scroll down for more pictures taken at the beginning of June.  It still amazes me how much our babies mature in only two weeks!
The pictures below were all taken on June 1st.  Pixie's kittens had only been loose in the household for about 9 days at this point (the photos above were taken in my bedroom the day before we brought them downstairs), but they were already feeling "big" enough to jump right in and play with the older kittens, competing for toys and having a wonderful time learning from their piers.  I say this because the "older kittens" really are a bouncy bunch ranging from 3 to 4 months old - nothing like a herd of feisty Turkish Angora teenagers to make little tikes feel "little" if they are at all timid.  But not these babies!  They really are GRRRREAT!  And photogenic too!
