I have no idea what the green powder is that Chatta has on her chest and paw in the pictures above.  Maybe a bit of catnip or pollen that we tracked in from the gardens...?  All of these pictures were taken right at the end of July, 2008.  Chatta is totally out of coat because she had a litter she was raising and it was her summer coat too.  But it's actually easier to see her when she is out of coat, so these are in fact the best pictures I have of her.  Except for the poor ear set, she is absolutely lovely!  Even her mother and father can't beat the beauty of those gorgeous green eyes - the color in the pictures below is just about perfect.  And she is a really great black with the color sound to the roots.  Plus she got her father's great profile and pretty much all of the best of both Jinx and Sprint.  All of the kittens in her second litter are every bit as gorgeous as the babies in her first.  So we're looking forward to the future and more of what this lovely lady has to offer!  I'll work on getting some decent pictures of her this fall and winter with her coat so folks can see just where her kittens do get their coats from.  Not that the sires haven't contributed their fare share, but Chatta really is a lovely lady.  And talkative too!  Not a noisey meow, but a look-you-in-the-eye, chitta-chatta kitty-cat as her name suggests.  She's one of those kitties that just has to talk to you when you look her in the eyes and won't even make a noise if she knows you're looking/listening.  And if you ignore her while she's trying to get your attention, you're likely to get a face full of tail as she wraps it around your nose to make you take a look!  Not a demanding girl, but a very social lady who raises her kittens to be outgoing and talkative with other kitties and all people too.  What a super mom and a lovely lady!
To help make the point of how hard it is to get eye color correct on any of our fur friends, I saved the pictures of Chatta below from our photo shoot on October 2nd.  At least we can edit the red-eye on the blue-eyed whites, but when it comes to eyes like Chatta's... no doubt you get the point!
